3.1beta1 released
KTorrent 3.1 is moving closer and closer, in preparation for this, we give you 3.1beta1. Still filled with bugs, but ready to be tested by brave men and women. Well, it should work pretty well, some new features still need some testing, but they mostly should work OK. (Yes, I'm a lousy salesman :-)
Amongst the new things we have added are :
- HTTP webseeding
- A mediaplayer plugin, supporting audio and video (see schreenshot above)
- Preview sizes can now be configured
- A location column has been added in the main view
- Assured download and upload speeds per torrent
- Group policies, set default speed limits, max seed time, max ratio and default download location for all torrents of the group
- A feature to suppress sleep when torrents are running
- A redesigned tracker tab, now also showing how many times a torrent was downloaded
- Trackers can now be disabled or enabled
And this is just the tip of the iceberg, just take a look at the ChangeLog, for further details on all the features we added and all the bugs we fixed. The source code can be found here.

KTorrent 3.0.2
The second bugfix release for the 3.0 version is out. This release contains several bugfixes. Including one which will prevent ktorrent from crashing when unloading plugins on Qt 4.4. So if you are using Qt 4.4, you really want to upgrade. Several nasty bugs have also been squashed in the IP filter plugin.
The code can be found here : ktorrent-3.0.2.tar.bz2

KTorrent 2.2.6
KTorrent version 2.2.6 has been released. This is most likely the last release we do for KDE3. It contains all the bugfixes which have happened since 2.2.5. Seeing that it is no problem to run KDE4 applications under KDE3, we have decided to end the 2.2 series as of this moment. No more bugfixes will be made to it, unless somebody finds a really grave bug or a security hole.
The source code can be found here : ktorrent-2.2.6.tar.bz2

KTorrent 2.2.5 and 3.0rc1 are out
The release of KTorrent 3.0 is coming closer and closer, 3.0rc1 will probably be the last release before 3.0. It contains many bugfixes and some new feature additions. It is a big improvement over the beta, and should be stable and ready enough for day to day usage.
At the same time we have also released a new bugfix release for our 2.2 series. This contains many bugfixes in the webgui, the zeroconf plugin and the DHT code. Source packages for both releases can be found on our downloads page
